Grey’s Anatomy is getting ready for its mid-season return, and season 12 of the series will return with a huge bang. ABC has now revealed what will happen on the big episode set for February 11.
Meredith will face a new challenge. She will be attacked during the mid-season premiere, and a preview released by ABC reveals that it will be a patient that attacks her.
There is someone big behind the camera for the mid-season return titled “The Sound of Silence.” Denzel Washington directed the episode. Filming of the episode took place back in November, and Ellen Pompeo teased a bit about the episode in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. She said:
“I’m super excited for the fans to see [episode 1209, directed by Denzel Washington]. It’s for sure the [best] thing I’ve ever done on the show. We’ve never had anybody of his caliber come and direct our show ever. His charisma, he changes the energy in the room completely. Everybody is just at the top of their game.”
ABC has also released details for the episode:
“The Sound of Silence” – Meredith is brutally attacked by a patient, and Penny is the one who discovers her. The doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial rush to stabilize Meredith and remain by her side in the harrowing aftermath, on the midseason return of “Grey’s Anatomy,” THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 11 (8:00–9:00 p.m. EST) on the ABC Television Network.
