Grey’s Anatomy is giving Sara Ramirez’s character, Callie Torres, some big drama as season 12 comes to a close, and now fans are wondering if that drama will lead to a departure from the ABC series for the actress.
Earlier this week, Sara Ramirez posted a message that has fans buzzing about a potential exit for her character. According to TV Line, Ramirez posted a note about her wrap for season 12, and many fans jumped to the conclusion that she was saying her final good-byes to the series. Her tweet is below.

It is possible that Ramirez is leaving the drama. Her departure would be a huge blow to the fans though. She joined the series during season two of the series, and she has been at the center of some dramatic moments on the series. Her character has grown from the woman George caught dancing in her underwear in her little hideaway in the hospital.
Right now, Callie is in the middle of a custody battle with her ex-wife. If she wins full custody of her daughter, she will be able to leave Seattle for New York to be with her new girlfriend. Previews for next week’s episode show that the decision on custody will be revealed.
ABC has also just released the brief synopsis for the season finale, which cast members have already teased as having a ‘potential disaster’ for the staff to deal with. According to Spoiler TV, the finale is titled “Family Affair.”
“Meredith and Maggie offer Amelia support; Jo admits she’s been keeping things from Alex; Arizona and Callie deal with the effects of their custody arrangement.”
That does not reveal much. Ramirez’s contract is up at the end of this season, so it is possible she could leave the series. Fans will need to keep watching to find out what happens next to Callie Torres. Jerrika Hinton and Justin Chambers have already teased their involvement in season 13 of the series.
