Grey’s Anatomy: Will Sandra Oh Return in Season 13?

Grey’s Anatomy returned to ABC with its 13th season this week, and the drama will focus heavily on the original cast this season. Could that focus cause a return by one departed cast member?

Sandra Oh left the medical drama at the end of season 10, but her character is still strongly connected to the series. In fact, one of those connections could lead to her Grey’s Anatomy return.

At the end of season 12, Owen Hunt, who is played by Kevin McKidd, got married. He was once married to Sandra Oh’s character. He spoke with Digital Spy about the possibility of Sandra Oh returning to the drama. He said the following:

“I’d love it if she came back, I think she might eventually for fun, for maybe a couple of episodes. I don’t think she’d come back for anything long term, but who the hell knows? I feel like I see Sandra a lot still, we’re still really close friends. We meet up quite regularly. I do miss her, but I feel like I get to see her anywhere.”

As for Hunt’s marriage, McKidd did share Oh’s reaction to the new marriage on the show. He said:

“She was actually! She was joking, but she was a bit like, ‘you didn’t tell me you were getting married!’ You left, Sandra! She’s happy for Owen, really. I think she’s happy he married another Canadian actress.”
