Ground Floor: Sitcom Cancelled by TBS After Two Seasons

Ground Floor TV show on TBS: cancelled no season 3There won’t be a third season for the Ground Floor sitcom. A couple weeks ago, it was reported that TBS had cancelled the comedy but a representative for the cable channel said that a decision hadn’t been made about the show’s future. Now, that all of the second season episodes have aired, TBS has officially decided they won’t be ordering any more.

Ground Floor follows the romantic relationship of a young hotshot banker (Skylar Astin) and a beautiful maintenance worker (Briga Heelan). The rest of the sitcom’s cast includes Rory Scovel, Rene Gube, James Earl, Emily Heller, and John C. McGinley.

Season two ended up averaging a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.47 million viewers. That was essentially on par with the first season’s performance but apparently not good enough to earn Ground Floor a third season renewal. The last episode aired on February 10th.

With this cancellation, TBS has finished cleaning the slate of their existing comedies. Men at Work and Sullivan & Son were previously cancelled and Cougar Town is in its final season. The cable channel’s upcoming half-hour series are Buzzy’s, Angie Tribeca, and Your Family Or Mine.

What do you think? Did you like the Ground Floor sitcom? Do you think that it should have been cancelled? Would you watch it on another channel?
