The Growing Up McGhee TV show has been renewed for a second season on UP. The family’s first reality series ran for threes seasons as 6 Little McGhees, on OWN, between 2012 and 2014, before being cancelled. UP picked up Growing Up McGhee (and bestowed the new title).
The series, from Figure 8 Films, premiered on UP in June 2016. Growing Up McGhee follows Mia McGhee and Rozonno McGhee and their young family. After a decade of fertility problems, in 2010, the couple became the first parents of sextuplets in Columbus, Ohio. Bill Hayes, Kirk Streb, Deanie Wilcher, Mary Wilcher, and Director Matthew Hightower executive produce, with Tori Holder producing.
Deadline — which broke the renewal news — says, “Growing Up McGhee season one reached over 5.7 million viewers and doubled the previous time-period average in women 25-54, according to the network and Nielsen. In Growing Up McGhee, Ro and Mia McGhee and their growing sextuplets balance life with school and their family business.”

In the new series “Growing Up McGhee,” Ro and Mia McGhee and their adorable sextuplets, now five years old, return to television as they try their best to balance a hectic life and all that comes with it, including their six different kindergarten classes and all of the demands of their bustling family carpet cleaning business. Life was busy enough taking care of six little babies, but now that their brood can walk, talk and share lots of laughs and mischief, Ro and Mia face brand new challenges and unexpected surprises that are throwing them for a loop. Diaper changes and feeding schedules have been replaced by sassy opinions, homework times six and chore charts. Not only do the kids continue to grow and learn, but the parents do too! With these six, they never know what is going to happen and never before have they felt more outnumbered.
Ro and Mia’s adorable brood each have very distinct personalities. There is Rozonno Jr., who is independent and laid back. He thinks he’s a superhero. Josiah is charming and a class clown. He’s very mischievous and is always smiling as he’s getting into something. Isaac likes to be the center of attention. He loves to make people laugh and loves girls. Madison is the Queen. She runs the show. Elijah is a lover boy. He hugs everybody and anybody. Olivia is the diva and drama queen. She’s always bringing the ruckus.
“When Ro and I decided to start a family, we never imagined having sextuplets,” said Mia McGhee. “We are so lucky that we have these six loving and incredible kids and wouldn’t change a thing. Despite the challenges, obstacles and mayhem, each day is a new and exciting adventure full of love.”
