Immediately following the cancellation, Sony started having talks with USA but, after three weeks, the cable channel has now opted not to pick up the show.
Though USA execs loved the show, Happy Endings’ low ratings played a major factor in their decision to pass. They’d have to sink a lot of cash into promoting the sitcom and decided to instead use the funds to launch their own original shows.
USA recently ordered two new sitcoms — Sirens and Playing House. They’re USA’s first comedies in more than 15 years.
What do you think? Were you hoping that USA would pick up Happy Endings or had you lost interest in the series?
