TV show description:
A teen dramedy, this TV show explores the behind-the-scenes world of the country’s most popular theme park — Happyland. While it’s a magical place for visitors but the park workers have a very different experience.
Lucy Velez (Bianca Santos) is the cynical teenage daughter of an idealistic park princess mom, Elena (Camille Guaty). Elena’s played the ageless Princess Adriana at Happyland for nearly 20 years and loves to keep the illusion of a never-ending fairy tale alive. This includes keeping certain secrets from Lucy.
Having grown up in a world of manufactured happiness her whole life, sharp and ambitious Lucy wants to get out and experience something real. When Ian Chandler (Shane Harper), the new park owner’s charismatic and handsome son, arrives and sweeps her off her feet, Lucy is left wondering if fairy tale endings do exist after all. Unfortunately, a scandalous secret turns her world upside down.
Will Armstrong (Cameron Moulene) grew up with Lucy in the Brick — Happyland’s low-income housing area. Unlike her, he has no intentions to leave the park after high school. A brash and tough guy, Wiil takes pride in his working class roots and his Ricky Raccoon job. Though he’s always treated Lucy like a sister, Will starts to have feelings for her.
Fun and acerbic, Harper Munroe (Katherine McNamara) is Will’s girlfriend. She grew up with Lucy and Will in the Brick but her parents have now been promoted as park executives. They and Harper have moved to Dazzle — the pristine, Happyland-owned neighborhood that plays home to the park’s elite.
Ambitious Theodore Chandler (Ryan Rottman) is Ian’s older and favored brother. He finished college early and has stepped into a senior role at the park at a very young age. Unlike his brother, Theodore has no problem embracing his role as the heir apparent to the Happyland dynasty.
Episode #8 — Your Happyland Family
The big 4th of July parade in Happyland is interrupted by natural disaster. Lucy discovers that Ian may not actually be her brother but doesn’t know if she should share the news. When James comes to Lucy’s home one night, he figures out the truth about her. It’s later revealed that Theodore had always known that Ian wasn’t a real Chandler and Ian is furious. Once the truth comes out, Lucy and Ian’s feelings re-emerge and Will and Harper discover them kissing.
First aired: November 18, 2014.
