Harvest: Jerry Bruckheimer Drama Cancelled at Spike TV

Spike TV shows

The Bruck stops here. Jerry Bruckheimer that is. According to Deadline, Bruckheimer’s new TV drama, Harvest, has been dropped by prospective network Spike TV.

The hour-long series was going to premiere in 2016 as the network’s first foray into scripted dramas in nine years.

Written by Ian Sobel and Matt Morgan, Harvest follows a hard-working father who labors as both a cemetery caretaker and nursing school attendant to take care of his teenage daughter. Soon, his criminal father shows up and blackmails him into working together “in a black-market tissue and body parts trade.”

The series was slated for 10 episodes, but reports suggest there were disagreements between the network and producers at Warner Bros. and Jerry Bruckheimer TV.

No word yet on whether another network has bought the project.

What do you think? Does Harvest sound like something you’d watch? Do you think Spike TV should produce more scripted series?
