House of Cards: Season Four Announcement Coming?

House of Cards TV show on Netflix: season 4 renewal

Is Netflix going to announce its fourth season House of Cards premiere, during tonight’s Republican debate? From the looks of the official House of Cards Twitter page, it sure seems so. It reads: “BREAKING NEWS: President Underwood will be making a special announcement tonight during the #GOPDebate.”

That is a very Frank Underwood thing to do. E Online reports that earlier this year, Kevin Spacey (Underwood), joked to Stephen Colbert, “When I’m looking directly into that camera, I’m talking to one person and one person only, and that is Donald Trump.”

Take a look at the official House of Cards tweet:

Since Netflix renewed House of Cards for a fourth season, back in April, it seems like a premiere date, and perhaps a season four trailer, will air tonight. CNN hosts tonight’s debate, the fifth and last to be held during 2015. Because the GOP field is so wide, the candidates are again being split into two tiers.

The lower-polling candidates will begin their debate at 6:00pm on CNN. The early debate is between South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, former New York Gov. George Pataki, and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

It is unlikely the cunning President Frank Underwood would spend his ad-dollars during the earlier debate. The first tier candidates’ debate kicks off at 8:30pm. Primetime is much more Frank’s style.

The smart money says to expect President Underwood’s special announcement during this later debate, featuring: Donald Trump, Dr. Ben Carson, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, Ohio Governor John Kasich, Carly Fiorina, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

What do you think? Have you been enjoying the House of Cards TV show? Do you intend to watch season four?
