TV show description:
A fantasy series, the House of the Dragon TV show is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood novel and is a prequel to Game of Thrones. The series tells the story of House Targaryen.
King Viserys Targaryen (Considine) is chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed his grandfather, the Old King, Jaehaerys Targaryen, at the Great Council at Harrenhal. A warm, kind, and decent man, Viserys only wishes to carry forward his grandfather’s legacy. But good men do not necessarily make for great kings. His wife is Aemma Targaryen (Brooke). First-born son Aegon (Glynn-Carney), Helaena (Saban), and Aemond (Mitchell) are his children.
Prince Daemon Targaryen (Smith) is the younger brother to King Viserys and heir to the throne. A peerless warrior and a dragonrider, Daemon possesses the true blood of the dragon.
Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (D’Arcy) is the king’s first-born child. She is of pure Valyrian blood and a dragonrider but, perhaps most importantly, she was not born a man. Her eldest son is Jacaerys Velaryon (Collett).
Lord Corlys Velaryon (Toussaint), aka “The Sea Snake, is the head of the House Velaryon. The most famed nautical adventurer in the history of Westeros, his house is even richer than the Lannisters and claims the largest navy in the world.
His wife is Princess Rhaenys Targaryen (Best), a dragonrider who was passed over as heir to the throne because the realm favored her cousin, Viserys, simply for being male.
Their daughter is Lady Laena Velaryon (Blondell). Baela Targaryen (Antonia) is Laena’s eldest daughter and the rider of the young dragon Moondancer. Rhaena (Campbell) is her younger sister, and Ser Laenor (Macmillan) is her brother.
Ser Vaemond Velaryon (Johnson) is Coryls’ younger brother and commander in the Velaryon navy.
Otto Hightower (Ifans) is the Hand of the King and loyally and faithfully serves both his king and his realm. As the Hand sees it, the greatest threat to the realm is the king’s brother, Daemon, and his position as heir to the throne. Alicent (Cooke) is his daughter and the most comely woman in the Seven Kingdoms. Raised in the Red Keep, close to the king and his innermost circle, she possesses both a courtly grace and a keen political acumen.
Ser Criston Cole (Frankel) is of Dornish descent and is the common-born son of the steward to the Lord of Blackhaven. Cole has no claim to land or titles; all he has to his name is his honor and his preternatural skill with a sword.
Mysaria (Mizuno) came to Westeros with nothing and was sold more times than she can recall. She persisted and become the most trusted (and most unlikely) ally of Prince Daemon.
Ser Harwin ‘Breakbones’ Strong (Corr) is said to be the strongest man in the Seven Kingdoms. He’s also the eldest son to Master of Laws Lyonel Strong (Spokes) and heir to Harrenhal.
Ser Steffon Darklyn (Flanagan), twins Tyland and Jefferson Lannister (Hall), Grand Maester Mellos (Horovitch), Ser Harrold Westerling (McTavish), Larys Strong (Needham), Lord Lyman Beesbury (Paterson), Helaena Targaryen (Allen), Aemond Targaryen (Ashton), Lady Laena Velayron (Blondell), Lord Commander Ryam Redwyne (Cooper), Maester Gerardys (Daniels), Grand Maester Orwyle (Egyiawan), Ser Borros Baratheon (Evans), Lady Laena Velayron (Fouellis-Mose), Lucerys Velaryon (Grihault), Jacaerys Velaryon (Hart), Lord Boremund Baratheon (Jones), Jasper “Ironrod” Wylde (Kennedy), Ser Joffrey Lonmouth (McLeod), Rhaena Targaryen (Ossei-Gerning), Lord Hobert Hightower (Rhodri), Lucerys Velaryon (Sadler), Baela Targaryen (Smethurst), Ser Arryk Cargyll (Luke Tittensor), and Ser Erryk Cargyll (Elliott Tittensor).
