Carrying 500 pairs of pants that were mailed in by supporters, protesters visited the cable channel’s offices in Los Angeles and New York last Wednesday.
In both locations, they were stopped by security. In Los Angeles, the delivery was accepted by David Janollari, MTV’s head of programming. In New York, the pants were delivered to MTV’s music group Van Toffler.
Before dropping them off, protesters also draped some of the pants over the Viacom sign and the front lawn. The group’s efforts to save the show also include an online petition and an email campaign. Snooki, of MTV’s Jersey Shore, is apparently a supporter.
Word is that Liman and his fellow producers are still working to find a new home for I Just Want My Pants Back.
What do you think? Do you think that protests like this impact the chances of a show being revived?
