Though the TV series had the involvement of some very talented people — Arrested Development’s Mitch Hurwitz and Two and a Half Men’s Eric and Kim Tannenbaum — In the Flow ended up getting pushed to June and then to August. It became clear that the network’s enthusiasm had waned.
Not surprisingly, few watched the series. FOX aired the first two episodes in an hour block. The first installment attracted a 1.3 in the 18-49 demographic with 2.6 million viewers. More than 23% of those viewers jumped ship and didn’t watch the second installment. The six episode season averaged a poor 1.1 in the demo and 2.3 million total viewers.
Though it was widely assumed that In the Flow wouldn’t be back for a second season, FOX has now made it official. For those who love FOX sketch comedy shows, the network recently announced that they’re bringing back In Living Color for a pair of specials next year.
What do you think? Did you like In the Flow with Affion Crockett? Do you think it could have been a hit if FOX had handled it differently?
