The cable channel has once again ordered six episodes and the season is expected to run through August 24th.

NEW YORK, June 26, 2012 — John Oliver is back, and he’s brought some new friends for the third season of “John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show,” premiering on Comedy Central on Friday, July 20 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. “The Daily Show’s” favorite British correspondent has brought together some of his favorite comedians for a new season of laughs in his adopted hometown of New York City.
“John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show” is a weekly, hour-long series, featuring four comedians per episode and hosted by Oliver, who kicks off each episode with all-new material. Hannibal Buress, Marc Maron, David O’Doherty, Michael Ian Black, Dana Gould, and “The Daily Show’s” Wyatt Cenac each close out their episodes with super-sized stand-up sets; the complete line-up boasts new stand-up from Leo Allen, Kurt Braunohler, Michael Che, Dan St. Germain, Emily Heller, Al Jackson, Hari Kondabolu, Ben Kronberg, Mike Lawrence, Jared Logan, Adam Lowitt, Adam Newman, Mark Normand, Iliza Shlesinger, Sheng Wang and Andy Zaltzman.
In the premiere episode, Cenac headlines a show featuring Kondabolu, Normand and Kronberg. Cenac riffs on the importance of airplane seat buddies, the democratic process, and finding role models kids can look up to.
Leading up to the season premiere, the “John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show” Web site will offer exclusive videos featuring Oliver and Cenac in conversation, as well as preview clips. The site also will feature extended highlights for each episode, and a Twitter module that will compile tweets about the show, including tweets from the comedians themselves.
Each episode of “John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show” will be made available the day after air in SD and HD for download-to-own on iTunes, Zune Video Marketplace on Xbox, Amazon Instant Video, Sony PlayStation Network and Vudu. A season pass also will be available on the platforms that support it.
“John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show” is produced by Avalon Television, Art & Industry, and Sixteen String Jack Productions. It is executive produced by Oliver, Richard Allen-Turner, David Martin, James Taylor, and Jon Thoday; and directed by Shannon Hartman.
