Judge Judy: Star Judy Sheinlin Signed Through 2015

Judge JudyThere will continue to be order in the court. No-nonsense Judge Judy Sheinlin has been signed to a new contract that will keep her on her syndicated TV series, Judge Judy, through 2015. In 2008, the show was renewed through the 17th season for 2012-13.

Judge Judy is the most-watched TV series in daytime television, attracting an average of 10 million viewers. The Oprah Winfrey Show is the court series’ closest competition and that will sign off later this month.

CBS TV Distribution president John Nogawski said. “Judy is in a class by herself… For 15 years, she’s delivered one of the highest-rated shows in all of syndication. She’s at the top of her game, and we’re excited to be in business with daytime’s #1 star.”

Sheinlin is 68 years old and reportedly earns $45 million a year to tape the daily series. She’s been on the TV bench since September 1996. She was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006 and has been nominated for Emmy Awards more than a dozen times.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Judge Judy? Glad to hear she’s going to keep making shows?
