The L Word: Showtime Cast and Creator Are Ready for a Reunion

The L Word TV Show: canceled or renewed?

The L Word ended its run in 2009 after six seasons on the air, and there is a chance fans could see a revival of the series. Ilene Chaiken and the cast of the drama are all ready and willing to revive the series.

Chaiken said the following about the desire to revive the Showtime series in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:

“There’s certainly a chance. We talk about it all the time. When we went off the air in 2009, I think a lot of people thought, “Okay, the baton is passed now, and there will be lots of shows that portray lesbian life.” There’s really nothing. It feels like maybe it should come back.”

Mia Kirshner also spoke about the potential return of the series:

“Another generation is beginning to watch the show, and there’s such a hole in terms of the landscape of what’s on television and what we’re capable of doing. There’s so many other stories to tell that it’s crazy that this show doesn’t exist.”
