Last Man Standing doesn’t look like it’s slowing down any time soon. Deadline reports the ABC sitcom is performing strongly in syndication.
The family comedy follows sporting goods store employee Mike Baxter (Tim Allen), his wife, and their three daughters. The cast also includes Nancy Travis, Amanda Fuller, Molly Ephraim, Kaitlyn Dever, Christoph Sanders, Hector Elizondo, Flynn Morrison, Jordan Masterson, and Jonathan Adams.
Distributed by Twentieth Television, Last Man Standing was the only off-network comedy to premiere in syndication this fall. And so far, the show has proven a hit on Tribune stations and Hallmark, as well as Freeform and CMT.
For the week of December 5th, the comedy placed fourth out of the 19 comedies in broadcast syndication, right after The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and Two and a Half Men. In all, the series’ syndication viewership has grown 43% since its September launch. Could all this success suggest a season seven renewal for the ABC sitcom?
Currently, season six of Last Man Standing is doing well in the ratings, earning an average of 1.12 in the 18-49 demo and 6.212 million viewers. Strong syndication ratings usually lead to more seasons, but we’ll have to wait and see if ABC feels the same way.
What do you think? Do you watch Last Man Standing? Do you think it should be renewed?
