Late Night with Jimmy Fallon: NBC TV Series Renewed for Season Three

Late Night with Jimmy FallonNBC has quietly renewed Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for a third season, EW reports. The new deal will take Fallon through early 2012. The late night program’s seasons don’t follow the typical schedule since Fallon began hosting the show mid-season, in early March 2009.

The renewal keeps NBC’s top-rated late-night schedule intact. Last Call with Carson Daly was renewed for its 11th season a month ago and Jay Leno signed a multiple year contract when he returned to the Tonight Show last year.

EW also reports that Late Night’s ratings have grown by 16% this year to an average 1.8 million viewers. The 18-49 demographic has remained steady at a 0.6 rating. Fallon’s show has widened the lead over The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson in both areas.
