What’s This TV Show About?

A true crime anthology drama airing on the NBC television network, the first season of Law & Order True Crime is Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders. Edie Falco, Gus Halper, Heather Graham, Josh Charles, Miles Gaston Villanueva, Anthony Edwards, Julianne Nicholson, Constance Marie, Chris Bauer, Carlos Gómez, Sam Jaeger, Cliff Chamberlain, Sterling Beaumon, Molly Hagan, Dominic Flores, Lolita Davidovich, Elizabeth Reaser, Larry Cedar, and Ezra Buzzington star. It chronicles the slaying of José (Gómez) and Kitty (Davidovich) Menendez. Attorneys Leslie Abramson (Falco) and Jill Lansing (Nicholson), defend sons Lyle (Villanueva) and Erik (Halper) Menendez, in the ensuing murder trial.

Telly’s Take

Generally speaking, NBC and Dick Wolf have had a successful partnership on his sprawling Chicago and Law & Order television series franchises. That said, not all of their attempts have succeeded. Although it premiered with decent numbers, the ratings for True Crime have dropped quite a bit. If Wolf wasn’t so good at making cost-efficient programming, I’d say this series was toast. For now, my empty gut tells me to seek sustenance somewhere else. I’ll update this page with breaking developments.
