Lethal Weapon: Clayne Crawford Is Riggs in FOX Adaptation

FOX announces Clayne Crawford has been cast as Martin Riggs in the Lethal Weapon TV series pilot. He’ll star opposite Damon Wayans Sr., who is Roger Murtaugh. Crawford plays Ted Talbot Jr. on Rectify. In January, SundanceTV announced the fourth season (beginning in fall, 2016) will be the last, leaving that drama effectively cancelled.

The Lethal Weapon pilot cast includes: Wayans, Crawford, Jordana Brewster, and Golden Brooks.

After the deaths of his wife and child, Riggs sets out for LA and a fresh start. He is assigned to partner with Detective Murtaugh (Wayans). Reports indicate Murtaugh is recovering from a heart attack and has been instructed to avoid stress, and then here comes Riggs.

FOX Pilot Casting: LETHAL WEAPON

FOX and Warner Bros. Television are happy to confirm that actor Clayne Crawford (“Rectify,” “24“) has been cast in the lead role of “Martin Riggs” opposite Damon Wayans, Sr. as “Roger Murtaugh” in our drama pilot LETHAL WEAPON.

Crawford is repped by APA.

In addition to his role on “Rectify”, Crawford will be seen in Legendary Pictures’ supernatural thriller, “Spectral,” opposite James Badge Dale. Crawford’s credits include “24,” Alan Ball’s HBO pilot “All Signs of Death,” “The Baytown Disco” and “Justified.”

LETHAL WEAPON from Warner Bros. Television is executive produced by Matt Miller, McG, Dan Lin and Jennifer Gwartz. Miller wrote the pilot script which will be directed by McG. Damon Wayans, Sr.. Jordana Brewster, Golden Brooks and Kevin Rahm have been previously announced as cast members.

CHARCTER DESCRIPTION:

[MARTIN RIGGS] A former Navy SEAL and Texas cop who suffers the loss of his wife and baby and tries to start anew by moving to Los Angeles and a new job at the LAPD, where he is partnered with Roger Murtaugh (Damon Wayans, Sr.).
