A romantic comedy set in Los Angeles, this TV series takes a funny and sometimes excruciatingly honest look at the world of modern relationships.
This “down-to-earth look at dating” show explores male and female perspectives on romantic relationships through the experiences of Gus (Paul Rust) and Mickey (Gillian Jacobs).
After breaking up with his cheating girlfriend, nice and nerdy Gus moves into a trendy apartment complex that’s filled with college students. By day, he’s a tutor on the set of a hot TV show about witches called Witchita. Three hours a day, Gus teaches a self-indulgent child star but yearns to be a television writer.
By chance, Gus meets Mickey in a convenience store. She’s a loose cannon who hates her job as a satellite radio producer. She’s also an addict (drugs, drink, love, and sex) who’s having trouble breaking up with her sometime-boyfriend.
Two very different people, they open each other’s eyes to different ways of looking at love, the exhilarations and humiliations of intimacy, commitment, and other things they were hoping to avoid.
