What’s next for Magnum PI? CBS just announced the TV show has begun shooting season two.
A reboot of the ’80s series, the crime drama centers on former Navy SEAL Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez), who is back from Afghanistan and working as a private investigator. The cast also includes Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Tim Kang, and Amy Hill.
Season two of Magnum PI premieres on CBS on September 27th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

MAGNUM P.I. kicked off its second season production in Honolulu today with a traditional Hawaiian blessing in honor of its host Hawaiian culture. Series stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Tim Kang and Amy Hill, as well as the producers and the entire MAGNUM P.I. crew, participated. Kahu (Officiant) Kordell Kekoa officiated the ceremony, which included traditional royal maile leis, Oli Aloha (welcoming chant), and Pule Ho’oku’u (closing prayer). In honor of the show’s second season, the ceremony centered around the connections we make by using two traditional maile leis to symbolize how the production, its island home and the viewers create a “gift.”
The second season of MAGNUM P.I. premieres Monday, Sept. 27 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.”
