What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the CBS television network, Man with a Plan begins as a contractor and father named Adam (Matt LeBlanc) starts spending more time with his kids while his wife (Liza Snyder) returns to work for the first time in 13 years. He discovers that taking care of them (Grace Kaufman, Matthew McCann, and Hala Finley) is harder than he imagined. Thankfully (sort of), Adam has the support of his older brother (Kevin Nealon) and similarly stressed friends (Jessica Chaffin and Matt Cook). Diana Maria Riva also co-stars.

Telly’s Take
Matt LeBlanc has had a mixed track record on television but CBS was banking that viewers would want to see him back in a traditional sitcom. The series had an okay start in the ratings but the numbers have been tumbling downward ever since. CBS’ faith in the show may be on the decline as well. The network only ordered six additional episodes, bringing the first season to 19 episodes. If the numbers don’t start rising, I don’t see Man with a Plan getting a second season order from CBS.
3/23 update: Man with a Plan has been renewed for season two on CBS. Details here.
