What’s This TV Show About?

A Discovery scripted anthology series, Manhunt: Unabomber stars Sam Worthington, Paul Bettany, Chris Noth, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Jane Lynch, Mark Duplass, Michael Nouri, Brian d’Arcy James, Trieste Kelly Dunn, Elizabeth Reaser, Ben Weber, Jeremy Bobb, Lynn Collins, Katja Herbers, and Brian F. O’Byrne.

Manhunt: Unabomber recounts the true story of the FBI’s pursuit of a domestic terrorist thought to be the most lethal serial bomber of all time. The action centers on innovative FBI Agent and Criminal Profiler Jim Fitzgerald (Worthington). A trailblazer, Fitz develops and uses forensic linguistics, in order to identify Ted Kaczynski (Bettany) and capture the culprit.
 

Season One Ratings

In its first season, Manhunt averaged a 0.30 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.04 million viewers on Discovery. Three episodes simulcast on Investigation Discovery averaged a 0.26 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 940,000 viewers. Telly’s Take

It’s hard to tell if Discovery will cancel or renew Manhunt for season two. Since this is supposed to be an anthology series, the premise for a potential second season will also have to impress Discovery. Flying blind, I think Manhunt will score a second season. Much like truTV and National Geographic Channel, it seems this cable network wants to establish a scripted slate.
