Married at First Sight: Second Chances: FYI Orders Spin-Off Series

Married at First Sight: Second Chances TV show on FYI: season 1 (canceled or renewed?)

The Married at First Sight TV show franchise is expanding, again. FYI has ordered the Married at First Sight: Second Chances TV series, featuring participants of the parent-series, whose matches didn’t work out, the first time. The franchise also includes Married at First Sight: The First Year.

The first, 12-episode season of Married at First Sight: Second Chances follows season three faves, David Norton and Vanessa Nelson, as they each get another shot at finding true love. Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Calvin Roberson, and Rachel DeAlto will be on hand to give relationship advice. Production is beginning in Atlanta, GA, with an eye toward a 2017 premiere.

In season three of Married at First Sight, David’s marriage failed, despite his efforts to spark a connection with wife Ashley Doherty (above).

During the third season of Married at First Sight, Vanessa’s marriage to Tres Russell (above) blossomed. Once the cameras were gone though, it all fell apart.

FYI says, “Now, with the experiment over and their divorces finalized, David and Vanessa are embarking on another journey to find their soulmates.”

“The FYI viewers have spoken and we have listened to their demands to give two of the popular Married at First Sight participants a second chance to find a meaningful partner,” said Gena McCarthy, EVP of Programming and Development, FYI. “This series will follow David and Vanessa as they potentially find everlasting love with the likes of viewers and real people who are eager to date them.”

In Married at First Sight: Second Chances, men and women from David and Vanessa’s hometown area of Atlanta will take part in multiple rounds of dating and courtship in an attempt to win the hearts of these two eligible singles. With guidance from the show’s experts, as well as their family and friends, will David and Vanessa finally get their happily ever after?

Married at First Sight: Second Chances is produced by Kinetic Content for FYI. Chris Coelen and Brenda Coston are executive producers for Kinetic Content. Gena McCarthy and Shura Davison serve as executive producers for FYI.
