Actor Thomas Mikal “Tommy” Ford has died at the age of 52. Per USA Today, Ford passed away following a burst aneurysm. He is perhaps best known for playing Tommy Strawn on Martin Lawrence’s FOX sitcom, Martin.
When Martin ended. Ford went on to portray Lt. Malcolm Barker on the New York Undercover TV show on FOX — a police drama — in 1998 and ’99. He recurred on UPN’s Moesha spin-off, The Parkers, from 2000 to 2001. Other TV series work includes TVOne’s Who’s Got Jokes (2006-2008). His last TV appearance was on Brandy Norwood’s BET sitcom, Zoe Ever After, in 2016.
Deadline published the following statement from Mr. Ford’s family.
It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Son, father, brother, husband, and friend Tommy Mykal Ford. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. Please respect the privacy of the Ford family during our time of grief.
