What’s in store for Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD? ABC boss Channing Dungey recently discussed the future of the TV show, TVGuide reports.
Currently in its fifth season, the action-adventure drama follows Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his specialized team of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division). The cast also includes Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, and Elizabeth Henstridge.
At this year’s TCA winter press tour, Dungey said ABC is optimistic about Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD:
We are really excited about this fifth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I think it’s the strongest creative that we’ve had yet. And the fans seem to be really responding to it well. We made the move [to Friday] pretty much intact; our ratings are essentially the same as they were. Delayed viewing continues to be strong, so we’re feeling optimistic about that show.”
ABC has still not renewed the series for a sixth season, but Deadline reports producers are meeting with the network to pitch a new season soon.
