TV show description:
Based on the Marvel Comics character, and developed for television by Drew Goddard, Marvel’s Daredevil TV show is part of Marvel’s The Defenders franchise, which centers on Daredevil aka Matt Murdock (Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Danny Rand a.k.a. Iron Fist (Finn Jones).

Marvel’s Daredevil, itself, follows Matt Murdock. As a child, Matt was injured by a chemical spill. He lost his vision, but his other senses were heightened to superhuman levels.

After young Matt (Skyler Gaertner) was injured, he trained with martial arts mentor, Stick (Glenn), whose regimen helped the boy develop his enhanced senses, as well as his strength, speed, agility, and endurance.

Although his own father was a boxer, once Matt grew up, instead of studying the sweet science, he became a lawyer and along with his friend, Foggy Nelson (Henson), founded a small law firm, where they employ Karen Page (Woll) as a secretary. Together, they fight for the people of New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen.

When Matt finds so many people’s problems are outside of the law’s wheelhouse, he starts down a dark path in pursuit of justice. Now, as a masked avenger, he uses his preternatural strength and abilities to hunt down Hell’s Kitchen’s most dastardly fiends.

As Daredevil, Matt’s avocation pits him against antagonists including businessman Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin (D’Onofrio); vigilante Frank Castle aka Punisher (Bernthal); old flame Elektra Natchios (Yung); and assassin Benjamin Poindexter aka Bullseye (Bethel).

Series Finale:
Episode #39 — A New Napkin
Matt prepares to cross the line, as Dex becomes more dangerous than ever and Fisk enacts his endgame.
First aired: October 19, 2018.
