TV show description:
A four-way crossover TV series, Marvel’s The Defenders follows Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil (Cox), Jessica Jones (Ritter), Luke Cage (Colter), and Danny Rand a.k.a. Iron Fist. Although these superheroes generally prefer to work alone, New York City is now in grave danger. Despite their solitary tendencies, they must join forces, if their city has a shot at salvation.
Rebounding from atrocities she once endured, Jessica Jones now runs her own New York City private detective agency — Alias Investigations. Now that she’s taken down her nemesis, Kilgrave (David Tennant), the still-traumatized, hard-edged, hard-drinking, profane Jones feels a bit at sea. With her life’s mission complete, she’s trying to figure out what’s next.
Jessica knows the enigmatic Luke Cage (Mike Colter), from a previous investigation. Possessed of super strength, invulnerable skin, and dark secrets, Cage keeps his own counsel and is also trying to figure out where he fits in. Now a free man, he needs some direction in life.
Having given up his vigilante crusade against crime, blind attorney Matt Murdock just wants to straighten out his life. He believes that in order to do so, he must abandon being Daredevil.
After disappearing for four years, billionaire kung fu master Danny Rand returned to the city to reclaim his family legacy. When fighting crime, he summons the potent power of the Iron Fist. Now that he knows he was responsible for so much devastation in K’un-Lun, Danny is a man on a mission.
Can these four lone wolves truly team up to form a formidable fighting force fierce enough to save the Big Apple from an ancient evil threat? Stay tuned.
