According to Deadline, Harris-Perry and MSNBC have confirmed that she won’t be returning to the cable network. The news follows the leak of an email to the New York Times on Friday. In the e-mail, the host denounced the network for pre-empting her show for election coverage.
In the e-mailed letter, Harris-Perry wrote, “Here is the reality: our show was taken — without comment or discussion or notice — in the midst of an election season. After four years of building an audience, developing a brand, and developing trust with our viewers, we were effectively and utterly silenced. Now, MSNBC would like me to appear for four inconsequential hours to read news that they deem relevant without returning to our team any of the editorial control and authority that makes MHP Show distinctive.”
Here’s her tweet to her show’s fans:
Farewell #Nerdland. Inviting diverse new voices to table was a privilege. Grateful for years of support & criticism. pic.twitter.com/DJ7MMvVreN
