Though it’s been two years since the last episode of Adult Swim’s cult favorite series Metalocalypse aired, the fate of Dethklok is not yet death.
This month, at New York’s Comic-Con, show creator Brendon Small announced “Metalocalypse Now“—a month-long online campaign geared towards getting a series finale. Through signing the online petition or using social media, fans can “demand” a finale for the show about the crazy hijinks and killer tunes of black metal band Dethklok.
Metalocalypse debuted on Adult Swim in 2006 and ran for four seasons in addition to one hour-long special in 2013 and four companion albums of original music.
According to the site, the ultimate aim of the campaign is to convince Adult Swim and streaming site Hulu that there are enough fans to justify producing a final episode.
From Brendon Small at NYCC:
Metalocalypse, to this day, has a ridiculously strong viewership. The show has become a part of the metal community and we want to give the fans an opportunity to demand what is rightfully theirs!”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Metalocalypse? Do you want a series finale?
