GSN ORDERS 40 ORIGINAL EPISODES OF POPULAR GAME SHOW “MINUTE TO WIN IT”

Produced by Shine America, Series is Slated to Premiere in Late 2013

February 04, 2013 (Santa Monica, CA) GSN has ordered 40 one-hour original episodes of the successful game show MINUTE TO WIN IT – marking the first time the series has been developed by a U.S. cable network. The episodes are to be produced by Shine America – based on the format owned by Shine’s sister company Friday TV. MINUTE TO WIN IT begins production in March and is slated to premiere in late 2013.

“MINUTE TO WIN IT is a buzzy, addictive and social media-friendly show and we are excited to be producing 40 new hour-long episodes,” said Amy Introcaso-Davis, GSN Executive Vice President, Programming.

“MINUTE TO WIN IT has become a global phenomenon and we are thrilled to be bringing it to GSN’s avid fan base,” said Eden Gaha, President, Shine America. “With original games and some timeless classics, our goal is to make this new season a family favorite.”

Since its debut on GSN in July 2012, MINUTE TO WIN IT has become a top performer, ranking as GSN’s #1 program among viewers 2-17 and 18-34. In addition, MINUTE TO WIN IT has increased viewership among all demos in its primary time slot especially in the coveted W18-49 (+36%) and W25-54 (+48%).

In each one-hour episode of MINUTE TO WIN IT, competitors face 10 challenges that escalate in level of difficulty using everyday household items. Each game has a one-minute time limit and failure to finish the task on time will eliminate the contestant. At various points throughout the game, the competitor can walk away with the money earned up to that point – but it’ll take nerves of steel to complete all 10 tasks to win $100,000.
