What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the CBS television network, Mom centers on now-sober, single mother Christy (Anna Faris) and her mother Bonnie (Allison Janney) who is also in recovery. While Christy still considers Bonnie to be the root of her problems, she allows her mother to test her daily and keep her honest, as she pursues her dream of a legal career. Meanwhile, Bonnie is learning how to have a healthy romantic relationship and still wonders what she’ll be when she grows up. Together, and with the help of AA, these women spot one another along the road to recovery. Jaime Pressly, Matt Jones, Sadie Calvano, Blake Garrett Rosenthal, Mimi Kennedy, Beth Hall, and William Fichtner also star.
Season Four Ratings
Mom season four averaged a 1.43 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.53 million viewers. Compared to season three, the sitcom is down by 15% in the demo and down by 5% in terms of average total audience size. Find out how Mom stacks up against the other CBS TV shows.
On March 23, 2017, Mom was renewed for a fifth season.

Telly’s Take
While the ratings have dropped from season to season, that’s true of most TV shows. Overall, Mom is still a fairly solid CBS TV series. Mom is generally in the top half of the network’s shows in the important 18-49 year old viewer demographic. If it maintains these numbers for the remainder of season four, it seems likely Mom will be renewed for a fifth season. 3/23 update: CBS has renewed Mom.
