Additional casting has been announced for the third season of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s Monster anthology series. Netflix has revealed that Laurie Metcalf, Tom Hollander, and Olivia Williams will join Charlie Hunnam in the series.

Hunnam will play serial killer Ed Gein. It was revealed that Metcalf will play Ed’s mother, Augusta Gein. Hollander will portray legendary director Alfred Hitchcock, and Williams will play his wife, Alma Hitchcock.

Born in 1906, Edward Theodore Gein was also known as also known as the “Butcher of Plainfield” and the “Plainfield Ghoul.” In addition to being a murderer, Gein was discovered in 1957 to have stolen corpses from local graveyards around his hometown of Plainfield, Wisconsin. Gein’s crimes have inspired numerous books, movies, and TV shows, most notably the Psycho novel and film.

Season two of Monster, focusing on the Menendez brothers, debuted on Netflix in September and has become a hit for the streamer. Production on season three of the anthology series will begin next month. A premiere date will be announced later.
