The New Celebrity Apprentice: Season Eight Ratings

After two years away, NBC has brought back The Celebrity Apprentice with a new title and a new host, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The previous incarnation had seen some big drops in the ratings. How will The New Celebrity Apprentice perform? Will it be cancelled or renewed for another season? Stay tuned.

On The New Celebrity Apprentice, a group of 16 business-savvy personalities perform in challenges as they try to win the competition while raising money and awareness for the favorite charities. Contestants this time around are Laila Ali, Brooke Burke-Charvet, Eric Dickerson, Boy George, Matt Iseman, Carrie Keagan, Carson Kressley, Lisa Leslie, Jon Lovitz, Vince Neil, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Kyle Richards, Chael Sonnen, Porsha Williams, Ricky Williams, and Carnie Wilson. Advisors on this NBC show are Tyra Banks, Warren Buffett, Steve Ballmer, Jessica Alba, and Patrick M. Knapp Schwarzenegger.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. For comparisons: The seventh season of The Celebrity Apprentice  (from 2015) averaged a 1.87 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.25 million viewers (live + same day ratings).

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
