Nitro Circus Live: Season Two for MTV2 Series

second season of Nitro Circus LiveMTV2 has renewed their popular Nitro Circus Live series for a second season. To celebrate the renewal and the upcoming 3D movie, MTV2 will be running a marathon of season one episodes this afternoon and evening.

TRAVIS PASTRANA’S NITRO CIRCUS SET TO DROP JAWS AGAIN WITH SECOND SEASON PICK-UP OF “NITRO CIRCUS LIVE” ON MTV2 AND PREMIERE OF “NITRO CIRCUS THE MOVIE 3-D”

New York, NY (August 6, 2012) – MTV2 today announced the second season pick-up of the “Nitro Circus Live” series with 17-time X Games medalist Travis Pastrana and his sports-adventure troupe once again set to shock and awe audiences as they bridge the gap between extreme sports and unabashed daredevil antics. Prior to the new season, fans will be taken into the third dimension of heart-pounding stunts with the August 8, 2012 release of NITRO CIRCUS THE MOVIE 3-D, the group’s first feature length film.

MTV2 will celebrate the upcoming second season and movie with a special “Nitro Circus Live” season one marathon hosted by Travis and his crew tonight, Monday, August 6 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV2.

Then on Tuesday, August 7, Travis Pastrana and the Nitro Circus will be celebrating the premiere of their movie at LA Live in Los Angeles, CA (Lot 7) with fun, photos and autographs. But that’s not it! Fans will be treated to a special motocross demonstration – Nitro Style – when they pick one unsuspecting fan from the crowd to complete a tandem double back flip! Footage from the Nitro Circus event will be featured in a new episode of MTV2’s “What’s Good,” airing on Thursday, August 9 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV2.

The first season of “Nitro Circus Live,” part of the network’s original programming destination on Tuesday nights at 11:00 p.m., became MTV2’s highest rated original series among MTV2’s core demo of M12-34 since 2006, delivering an average rating of .42 and +50% time period increase versus the prior year. In addition, the first season improved its prior year time period by +27%. The second season will premiere in early 2013.

“Nitro Circus Live” was created and is executive produced by Travis Pastrana, Gregg Godfrey, Jeremy Rawle and Michael Porra. Dov Ribnick, Kurt Nicoll, Jared Knight and Andy Edwards serve as supervising producers. Paul Ricci, Eric Conte and Randi Gewirtz serve as Executive Producers for MTV2.

MTV2 targets young men with smart, funny and relevant content, including music, comedic and action-oriented original programming such as Guy Code, The DUB Magazine Project, 120 Minutes, Hip Hop Squares, and the dominant hip-hop franchise, Sucker Free.
