What’s This TV Show About?

Streaming on the CBS All Access paid subscription platform, No Activity stars Patrick Brammall and Tim Meadows as two low-level police officers who have already spent way too much time together in a car. Guest stars in the first season include: Mark Berry, Arturo Castro, Mackenzie Davis, Bridget Everett, Will Ferrell, Darren Gilshenan, Travis Guba, Jake Johnson, Sunita Mani, Jason Mantzoukas, Adrian Martinez, Jesse Plemons, Fred Pohl, Alex Rodriguez, Amy Sedaris, J.K. Simmons, Courtenay Taylor, Michaela Watkins, and Daniel Zolghadri. A send-up of high-stakes sting operations, the sitcom centers on the cops, dispatchers, and criminals who are all swept up in the events surrounding the planned bust of a major drug cartel.
 

 

Telly’s Take

Unless they decide to publicize its viewership statistics, it is hard to tell whether CBS All Access will cancel or renew No Activity for season two. That said, let’s look at what we do know. The comedy is an American adaptation of an Australian series (co-created by star Brammall), which is entering its third season, so the concept has already been audience-tested. Additionally, CBS All Access is really trying to build up its programming slate. For these reasons, I think a second season renewal is more likely than a cancellation. Still, I’ll keep an eye on the trades and update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for any No Activity cancellation or renewal news.
