As expected, Netflix has renewed its One Day at a Time TV show remake for a second season. The first season of this family sitcom just dropped to Netflix on January 6th. The original series starred Bonnie Franklin, Pat Harrington Jr., Valerie Bertinelli, and Mackenzie Phillips. It ran for nine seasons on CBS between 1975 and 1984.

A reimagining of the Norman Lear classic, One Day at a Time centers on the Cuban-American Alverez family. Justina Machado, Rita Moreno, Isabella Gomez, Marcel Ruiz, Todd Grinnell, and Stephen Tobolowsky. Eric Nenniger, Fiona Gubelmann, Ariela Barer, Froy Gutierrez, and Haneefah Wood recur, and Phillips has guest starred in season one on Netflix.

Our heroine is a recently separated, former military mom (Justina Machado) navigating a new single life while raising her radical teenaged daughter and socially adept tween son, with the “help” of her old school Cuban-born mom (Rita Moreno) and a friends- without-benefits building manager named Schneider.
