Outsiders aired its series finale last night, but does that mean the show is over for good? Star Gillian Alexy recently spoke with Variety about a possible third season for the cancelled WGN America TV show.
The drama is set in the rugged hills of Appalachia and follows the Farrell clan, a tight-knit family of renegades who has lived atop Shay Mountain for over two hundred years and are at odds with those who live outside of their community. The cast also includes Joe Anderson, David Morse, Ryan Hurst, Kyle Gallner, Thomas M. Wright, and Christina Jackson.
In the interview, Alexy said she’d like to see a third season of Outsiders:
here’s so much more to explore with these characters in this world. The potential is just endless. I’d like to see G’win have her ideology tested. What is something that would push her to her edge? I of course would like to see the relationship with Little develop a bit more and see where that takes us, and the very weird relationship with Big. I’d love to see how that goes as well. And I’d like to see her down in the town, and just see how that would change her world.”
The odds of a third season on another network seem unlikely, but the series does seem to be popular with its fans. When we asked viewers if they’d watch Outsiders on another network, the answer was overwhelmingly “yes.”
