Partners: Debut Ratings

TV show Partners on CBS ratingsCBS has very high ratings standards when it comes to their sitcoms so Partners will have to do very well not to be cancelled — like ¡ROB!, $#*! My Dad Says, and Mad Love.

Last night, sandwiched between the season premieres of How I Met Your Mother and 2 Broke Girls, Partners registered a 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.5 million total viewers.

This was a solid sampling for the show but a disappointment when you consider that its lead-in brought a 3.4 demo rating and its lead-out drew a 3.7 rating. Clearly, a large segment of the demo were avoiding Partners.

Compared to the year-ago performance of How I Met Your Mother in the same timeslot, the network was down by 34% in the demo (vs a 5.2 rating) and down by 47% in viewership (vs 12.22 million).

On another network, Partners’ premiere ratings could be seen as positive. On CBS, it’s a whole other story. Unless the numbers improve, it doesn’t look like Partners has much of a future.

What do you think? Did you like Partners? Will you keep watching?
