Person to Person: 2011-12 Season Ratings

Person to Person ratingsHere are the latest Person to Person TV ratings. The network has resurrected this venerable interview series with Charlie Rose and Lara Logan as hosts. The first season of the new Person to Person typically airs Wednesday nights at 8pm on the CBS network.

These are the TV show’s ratings for the 2011-12 season, the best way to tell if Person to Person is going to be cancelled or renewed for season two. Check out our CBS ratings report card to see how this show’s numbers compare with the others on the network.

These figures will be updated as the weeks progress so be sure to bookmark and return to this page:

Episode 01-01: Wednesday, 02/08/12:
1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.90 million total viewers; fourth in the timeslot.
Season average: 1.00 in the demo with 5.90 million.
Demo average rank: #6 of 6 non-scripted TV shows on the network (Fall 2011 – Spring 2012).

Compared to last week’s Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials special, the network was down 45% in the demo. On the positive side, when compared to last year’s disastrous Live to Dance, CBS was up by 22% in the demo.

Realistically though, this was a very disappointing start for Person to Person. After just one showing, it’s the lowest-rated non-scripted show on the network. Granted, it’s airing opposite American Idol but still, this was terrible.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

What do you think? Do you like the new Person to Person TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for an second season?
