Plain Jane: More Episodes But Will The CW Buy Them?

Plain Jane season two?The CW’s summer makeover show, Plain Jane, wasn’t a big hit in the ratings and the smallest network has yet to decide if they want a second season. Produced by Sony Pictures TV’s 2waytraffic, the program will however continue in an international version.

Deadline is reporting that MTV International has given a greenlight to Sony to produce eight new episodes of the series for other countries. It sounds like they’ll be virtually identical in format to what CW viewers saw last summer. They’ll be produced in English, with the same title and the same host, Louise Roe. They’re expected to debut this fall.

The format has also been sold in France with the title Le Tresor en Moi to TVA Mode. They’ve ordered 16 installments and those will begin airing in May.

In addition, MTV International is airing the six US episodes in the UK, Europe, Asia, and Australia and has picked it up for other territories as well. Sony has channels in Latin America and it’s airing there as well.

What do you think? Do you think The CW will order a second season or license the eight new episodes of Plain Jane that are being produced for the international market?
