Power Rangers: Bryan Cranston Returns to Franchise in New Film

Power Rangers TV show sequel film Bryan Cranston cast as Zordon.

No need to call Saul. Bryan Cranston has been cast as the rangers’ mentor, Zordon, in the upcoming Power Rangers feature film. The actor and the film’s official page broke the news on Twitter. Elizabeth Banks was previously cast as nemesis Rita Repulsa.

Well before he was Breaking Bad‘s Walter White, Cranston did some voice work on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers  TV show in the 1990s. The Blue Ranger, Billy Cranston, was named in his honor. The Power Rangers  film cast also includes: David Denman, Naomi Scott, Becky G., RJ Cyler, Emily Maddison, Lisa Berry, Ludi Lin, Sarah Grey, Anjali Jay, Dacre Montgomery, Patrick Sabongui, Caroline Cave, and Kayden Magnuson.

Here is Cranston’s announcement tweet, “Excited to play #Zordon in the #PowerRangersMovie! T or F: #BlueRanger Billy Cranston was named after what actor?”

 

 

The film’s official page retweet Cranston and added, “Welcome @BryanCranston as #Zordon! Fun fact: Billy Cranston aka #BlueRanger was named after him! #PowerRangersMovie.”

 

 

A while later, it tweeted out this official poster featuring Cranston.

 

 

Aussie actor Dacre Montgomery, who will play Jason Lee Scott/The Red Ranger, tweeted out the new teaser poster for The Power Rangers movie.
