Pretty Little Liars season threeIf you thought that the characters on Pretty Little Liars were getting close to uncovering the identity of the mysterious “A,” you’ll likely have to wait awhile longer. The show’s not coming to an end any time soon.

ABC Family has announced that they’ve renewed the drama for a full third season with 24 episodes. They’ll start airing in mid-2012.

But before that, the second season of Pretty Little Liars is set to resume on Monday, January 2nd. It’ll pick up a month after the end of the last episode when the four girls were caught by the police and they are now at each others’ throats.

The cable channel ordered 25 installments for the current season so that means there are 12 left to air. Season two is expected to finish airing on March 19th.

Pretty Little Liars debuted on ABC Family in June of 2010 and continues to be a ratings success for the cable channel. It’s currently ABC Family’s top rated original series among people 12-34 and females 12-34.

Over the summer, it was the top scripted original series on cable this summer among people 12-34 and females 12-34. It also led its Tuesday 8pm hour and ranked number one across key persons and female targets versus all basic cable nets (18-34, 18-49 and 12-34).
