The Purge: Season One Ratings

The Purge TV show on USA Network and Syfy: SEASON 1 RATINGS (canceled or renewed season 2?)

While some cable networks strike gold with hit TV series, usually cable shows just don’t draw the same sort of audience the big broadcast networks do. Although USA Network originally ordered the new TV show, The Purge, the thriller is also going to be rerun at times on its sister-station Syfy. Will running it on two NBC-Universal owned networks help it draw a larger audience, or at least minimize the cost to one network, or will viewers just be confused? Will The Purge be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.

A USA Network horror series, The Purge stars Gabriel Chavarria, Jessica Garza, Hannah Emily Anderson, Colin Woodell, Reed Diamond, Lili Simmons, William Baldwin, Lee Tergesen, Paulina Gálvez, Allison King, Fiona Dourif, and Amanda Warren. From creator James DeMonaco, and based on his feature film franchise, the drama unfolds in the United States, which is under totalitarian rule. The story centers on a 12-hour period during which all crimes, including murder, are legal.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

Note: It’s worth noting that the first episode was simulcast on Syfy and that drew a 0.12 rating in the demo with 368,000 viewers.
