With the popular Being Mary Jane series coming to an end, the pressure is on for the second season of The Quad on BET to make the grade in the Nielsen ratings. Does the sophomore college drama have what it takes to proceed to its junior year? Will The Quad be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
From creators Felicia D. Henderson and Charles Holland, The Quad TV show unfolds at Georgia A&M University, one of the nation’s most prestigious HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). As college president, Dr. Eva Fletcher (Anika Noni Rose) has to balance her personal life with her career and the needs of her students. In season two, the BET cast also includes: Jake Allyn, Sean Blakemore, Aeja Lee, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Jazz Raycole, Zoe Renee, Peyton ‘Alex’ Smith, Michelle DeFraites, Kevin Savage, Tyshon Freeman, RonReaco Lee, Debbi Morgan, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Jasmine Guy. **Status update, below.

For comparisons: The first season of The Quad averaged a 0.30 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 802,000 viewers.
