Ransom: Season Three Ratings

While its first two seasons haven’t exactly snatched the affections of Nielsen households, CBS renewed the Ransom TV show for a third season, probably because it does well overseas and is an international co-production, which involves Canadian, French, and German producers, as well as CBS. Since it promotes its status as the “most watched network,” how long will the Tiffany Network remain part of this picture? Will Ransom be cancelled or renewed for season four? A CBS mystery thriller from creators Frank Spotnitz and David Vainola, Ransom stars Luke Roberts, Karen LeBlanc, Brandon Jay McLaren, and Nazneen Contractor. The story centers on crisis and hostage negotiator Eric Beaumont (Roberts). He and his team save lives which often seem beyond saving, in part, because Eric understands criminals better than they understand themselves.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.

For comparisons: The second season of Ransom on CBS averaged a 0.26 rating in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic and 2.447 million viewers.

Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
