Remodeled: Cancel or Keep the New Reality Show?

Last week, The CW unveiled their newest reality series, Remodeled. Like America’s Next Top Model, it revolves around the world of modeling. But will it last more than 10 years, like ANTM, or be quickly cancelled instead?

Remodeled follows veteran player Paul Fisher as he attempts to bring hundreds of smaller agencies together from around the world to form The Network and change the modeling industry.

In its first week on the air, Remodeled attracted a minuscule 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just 670,000 total viewers. This was easily The CW’s lowest ratings of the season. Not only was it beaten by the broadcast networks but Remodeled was easily trounced by cable shows Hardcore Pawn, Dance Moms, Dirty Jobs, Shipping Wars, and many more.

Interestingly, this wasn’t the lowest rated original airing in The CW’s history. The short-lived entertainment news show CW Now hit a 0.2 demo rating in January 2008.

Last night’s installment, per the fast affiliate ratings, improved by 33% with a 0.4 in the demo and 940,000 viewers. It played opposite the State of the Union address on the other four networks, the likely cause for the increase.

Though The CW gave Remodeled a big launch by replaying the first episode and delaying the return of other shows, it’s a certifiable flop. The network has six more episodes but it seems doubtful that they’ll air them all before pulling and officially cancelling the series. The CW’ previous bomb, H8R, was cancelled after four episodes and it only dropped to a 0.4 rating low.
