NEW YORK – June 11, 2018 – Ridiculous Cakes returns to Food Network for a new season of mind-boggling, edible masterpieces on Monday, July 9th at 10pm ET/PT. During each half-hour episode, viewers get a behind the scenes look as cake artists from across the country work day and night to plan and create confectionary wonders for the joy of their clients. Whether it is a pinball machine cake you can actually play, a four-foot tall cake celebrating the 30th anniversary of Discovery’s “Shark Week,” or a cake honoring the beloved comic book superhero, Superman, these are some inspirational and Ridiculous Cakes you will have to see to believe!
“Viewers will be amazed as these cakes come to life before their very eyes,” said Courtney White, General Manager and Executive Vice President, Programming, Food Network and HGTV. “What starts as just an idea, quickly takes shape as these talented cake artists are able to encapsulate the very essence of a given moment with incredible detail, and in some cases, even movement within the finished edible designs.”
In the season premiere back-to-back episodes, cake artists encounter some hair-raising challenges taking Trolls from the big screen to a cake, while a Coney Island cake takes a New York City artist on a wild ride. Other featured creations during the premieres include a towering cake topped with life-size antlers, a UFO-themed cake, and a 25-pound cake that looks and floats like a turtle. If you can think it, these artisans can create it – and the journey from concept to cake is truly ridiculous.
