Riverdale: Season Two; Will You Keep Watching the CW TV Show?

Riverdale TV show on The CW: (canceled or renewed?)

Riverdale is nearing the end of its freshman season, but will you stick around for more? What do you think? Will you watch season two of The CW TV series?

A dark take on the classic Archie Comics characters, the drama follows the residents of a small town after the mysterious death of a popular high school student. The cast includes KJ Apa, Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Luke Perry, Mädchen Amick, Marisol Nichols, Casey Cott, and Madelaine Petsch.

There’s no need to worry about Riverdale getting cancelled anytime soon. The CW has already renewed it for a second season and it is performing decently in the ratings compared to the network’s other series. So far, season one is averaging a 0.41 rating in the 18-49 demo and 1.10 million viewers.

But what will happen in season two? Recently, series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa teased some supernatural elements could be added for the upcoming season:

In my mind, the mythology is this: Riverdale is a non-magical grounded town with weird stuff happening. Then there’s Sweetwater River, where Jason died, and on the other side of that river is Greendale, where Sabrina and the witches traditionally live. On one side of the river, there’s no magic, there’s no supernatural — that’s where Riverdale is. And on the other side of the mythic river, which is sort of like the River Styx, there’s magic and witches and dark Lovecraftian horrors.

Afterlife or not, there will definitely be a big genre element to season 2. It’s going to make people go, ‘They’re not really doing that, are they?’”

What do you think? Do you watch the Riverdale TV show? Will you keep watching into season two?
