How are the cast and crew reacting to Roseanne‘s abrupt end? Several cast members and showrunner Bruce Helford have released statements regarding the ABC TV show’s cancellation.
As reported earlier, ABC has axed the sitcom after star Roseanne Barr posted offensive statements on Twitter. The series’ cast also includes John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, Michael Fishman, Alicia Goranson, Emma Kenny, and Sarah Chalke.
Via Deadline, showrunner Bruce Helford said he was “horrified” by Barr’s remarks:
On behalf of all the writers and producers, we worked incredibly hard to create an amazing show. I was personally horrified and saddened by the comments and in no way do they reflect the values of the people who worked so hard to make this the iconic show that it is.”
On Twitter, Emma Kenney said she asked to quit Roseanne after seeing Barr’s tweets:
